Remembrance Sunday 1918-2018
There are very few words that can fully justify this momentous occasion, where we reflected on all those who sacrificed so much for our freedom and commemorated 100 years since the signing of the Armistice Treaty at the end of WW1.
Such a fantastic community presence, with literally thousands of knitted poppies adorning a scaffold church, ‘Lightwater Rocks’ pebbles thanking the soldiers on the memorial and display boards in the church hall providing information about each of those that had died in the world wars (as well as about our Scout war trench). Services were provided in the Church Hall and the main Church before we all marched up to the memorial. And as we all said in the service – ‘We will remember!’
