Bonfire and Fireworks 2018 – The Greatest Showman
2018 is the year ‘The Greatest Showman’ came to Lightwater! A circus tent, complete with billboards, bunting, bulb lit signage, a human cannon and a tiger in a cage. Amazing when you think the field is completely clear at 8am the morning of the event – yes, its all built in a day thanks to a wonderful team of local volunteers.
The bonfire was lit by firing our very own human ‘scout’ cannon ball at it. The cannon being lit by our ring master and vicar, David. As the sparks from our lit cannon ball shot across to the fire you could hear an amazing audience reaction.
An amazing firework display followed and children danced in the star lit sky dressed in various luminous glowing toys that our Explorer scouts sold.
Fantastic food again – Quality burgers and sausages from our brilliant local butcher – George Arthurs.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Windlesham Parish Council for kindly letting us borrow their field.
And Thank you to all who came! It makes a big difference to Scouts and we appreciate every one of you!
