This is our newest section for four to six year olds called Squirrels that opened Easter 2024, to help young people gain skills for life at a time when it matters most and where it’s most needed.
At 1st Lightwater we have two Squirrel Dreys:
- Woodland Drey (Tuesday)
- Treetops Drey (Thursday)

What we do
You’ll tell stories and play games. Get active and explore the outdoors. Become a brilliant builder and a super chef. There’s something for everyone – and that means that there’s something for you.
Recognising achievements
Badges are awarded for a whole variety of life skills and activities. The top award in this section is the Chief Scout’s Acorn Award
Uniform
We wear the full squirrel uniform – red squirrel sweatshirt, scarf and woggle. The Scarf is provided to you when you become invested. We often wear the Lightwater maroon t-shirt under our sweatshirts, available to purchase from your leader.
