Village Bonfire – Great Fire of London
What a night! The uniquely themed bonfire was truly incredible this year, with stunning fireworks to match. The anniversary of the ‘Great Fire of London’ was just too good an opportunity not to challenge the Scouts to build our Capital in all its former glory.

Complete with the bakers shop, London Bridge and even the River Thames it truly was a masterpiece. St Pauls Cathedral stood proudly at the back with its Square tower (Christopher Wrens dome came later). Our Vicar, complete with bakers apron lit the fire, which started from the bakery and soon spread across ‘our town’.
Our Explorer Scouts provided glow sticks and our local butchers, George Arthurs helped to supply the scrummy burgers and sausages. Complete with fireworks and supporting music it was a night to remember.
Many thanks go to all those involved – from collecting wood, organising, building, setting up tents, manning gates and clearing up – if you helped in any way we think you are fantastic! Funds from this event make a real difference to Lightwater Scouts.
