Campfire Ashes – World Scouting

1st Lightwater Scouts are very proud to look after and pass on ashes from over 350 campfires in more than 50 countries, going back to 1933!

Ashes taken from a campfire are sprinkled into the flames of the next campfire. The next day when the ashes are cold, they are stirred and taken along to mix with the next campfire. It is traditional that only those present at the ceremony carry away ashes from that campfire. It is our wish that this tradition continues and we spread the World Fellowship of Scouting. Come and join our Campfire!
