A Swiss Summer Camp Adventure 23′

What a camp! 10 days of brilliant adventures in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland.

We rode on top of cable cars (yes on top!), went summer tobogganing, played on glaciers and skidded around the inside of an ice palace of carved sculptures. Literally went inside mountains with incredible waterfalls and jumped into crystal blue lake waters. Swam in an idyllic outdoor pool and rode trottinets (half bike, half scooter) down entire mountains.

Took multiple trains and cable cars, including the ‘James Bond’ cable car up to the top of the Schilthorn, breaking through the clouds and undertaking a thrill walk – where netted pathways took us over extremely high drops.  Visited the main woodcarvers for the region and stood at 3571m, at the top of Europe; the highest you can go without the need for a climbing harness.

We even managed a visit to the Kandersteg International Scouting Centre, which led to some very special investitures, multi-national volley ball and a flurry of badge and scarf exchanges at ‘trading posts’.

A massive thank you to leaders Kara, Kat, Nick, Stefan and Ros for supporting this trip, including 20hr coach journeys and catering for 50!
