A year in the life of a Scout
2022 – What a year you’ve been!
We’ve camped with 6000 others from Surrey at Scoutabout and spent a week on the Isle of Wight – rib boating around The Needles, rafting in thick mud, biking across the island, sleeping under the stars and so much more!
At our weekly sessions we met our mayor, who showed us the council chambers and let us try her robes; our local community officer, who let us have ago with his lights in his car; we visited the oldest mosque in northern Europe; held many different types of birds of prey; we biked the trails of Swinley Forest and we geocached. We sky-dived, visited Buckingham Palace and went to see a London Show; we canoed, created lots of crafts and we cooked. Our local co-op taught us about sustainable food; we challenged ourselves on our newly built climbing wall. We played golf, hiked, gained our swimming badges and became weather forecasters. The Olympics saw us turn the hall into a snowy haven. We pioneered, paraded for remembrance and visited our local church for a Xmas service.
This and lots lots more made it a truly amazing year of scouting.
Thank you to everyone who has made it possible!
