Help Us Secure the Future of 1st Lightwater Scouts
For over 50 years, 1st Lightwater Scout Group has been proud to serve our local community — helping generations of young people build confidence, resilience, friendships and skills for life.
In 1998, thanks to grants and National Lottery funding, we built the Scout HQ that so many of our young people still call their second home today. It has been the backdrop to camp preparations, badge awards, laughter, teamwork, challenges and unforgettable memories.
But now, we face a pivotal moment.
Our lease on the land where our HQ stands has come to an end. After working closely with the council to explore options, we have been offered a once-in-a-generation opportunity:
The chance to purchase the freehold of our site and own our Scout HQ outright.
This would mean security. Stability. A permanent home for Scouting in Lightwater — not just for today’s young people, but for decades to come.
To make this dream a reality, we need to raise £50,000–£60,000 to cover the purchase and associated costs.
